Phenological Metadatabase

The European Phenology Network (EPN) has started the development of an International Phenological Metadatabase which contains information on active and historical phenological networks. The overall objective was to improve an effective exploitation of existing data sets on phenology by providing online access to information on what phenological data exist . By improving the accessibility of this data substantially, the benefits of phenological data and knowledge to many different scientific and social disciplines will increase substantially. The metadatabase is, therefore, an essential supporting component for the phenological community.

The information gathered included: Network identification, Network contact, Network spatial and temporal extent, Monitored species classes and their data extent, Monitored species sub-classes, Data consistency and quality, Data format, Data policy, Data usage, Related additional data, Network and data usage references, and Additional comments.
