Water & Nature Initiative (WANI)

IUCN-WANI is a 5-year action plan of 80 partner organizations to improve water management for healthy rivers and communities.

WANI aims at demonstration of good water management supported by the development of tools for financing, governance, empowerment, and information.  WANI partners with NV&F  through this site to offer decision makers and managers  an interactive clearing house on water valuation and financing issues.

Thi site is currently managed by Bas Verschuuren with the assistance of other NV&F staff-members. Bas has a background in environmental sciences, forest and nature management and Integrated Wetland Assessment.  Bas has worked on a variety of projects and studies located in South America, Europe, Asia and Australia and currently collaborates on projects with NV&F and the IUCN.
